Bradley-Abregu back on

Sources out of Argentina stated that WBO Junior welterweight champion Timothy ‘Desert Storm’ Bradley of Palm Springs, California (25-0, 11 KOs) will take on unbeaten welterweight contender Luis Carlos Abregu (29-0, 23 KOs) of Argentina on July 17th. The bout would be a non-title bout fought at the welterweight limit. The site of the fight would be the Agua Caliente resort in Rancho Mirage, CA a short distance from Bradley’s hometown. HBO will televise the event. A bout was proposed for Bradley and Abregu to fight June 19th but the bout was eventually scrapped in favor of a bigger showdown between Bradley and WBA interim super lightweight champion Marcos Maidana (28-1, 27 KOs) of Argentina. After Maidana pulled out twice due to a back injury Bradley-Abregu is now back on. Both Bradley and Abregu are promoted by Gary Shaw.

    Help Support®

For 18 years,® has delivered daily boxing news to fight fans around the globe. From the beginning, we have always kept Fightnews free to our readers and relied on advertiser support. Anyway, the Miami Herald, The Guardian, and Wikipedia among others have been using the “crowdfunding” revenue model, so we thought we’d test it too.

Please consider helping out. You’re not obligated to, but even a $1 pledge would really help. And if we reach our goal, we plan to upgrade our server and maybe even nuke the ads altogether. Wouldn’t that be nice?
