Bradley, Pacquiao final words

Timothy Bradley and Manny Pacquiao weighed-in Friday in front of thousands of enthusiastic fight fans (the majority supporting Manny) at the MGM Grand. After their face-off, both fighters were quickly corralled by Top Rank’s Crystina Poncher for some final comments. Here’s what they had to say.

Timothy Bradley: Boos are like cheers for me. I’ve been the underdog my whole life. I was raised up in the ghetto, so I know what being the underdog is like. I know when you don’t have any food in the refrigerator, I know what that’s like. I’m happy to be here. Tomorrow we’re gettin’ it on, me and Manny.

Manny Pacquiao: It’s nice to be back in Las Vegas. I’m really thankful for the fans who came here today, and tomorrow I have to pay them back with a good fight and, of course, a victorious fight.

    Help Support®

For 18 years,® has delivered daily boxing news to fight fans around the globe. From the beginning, we have always kept Fightnews free to our readers and relied on advertiser support. Anyway, the Miami Herald, The Guardian, and Wikipedia among others have been using the “crowdfunding” revenue model, so we thought we’d test it too.

Please consider helping out. You’re not obligated to, but even a $1 pledge would really help. And if we reach our goal, we plan to upgrade our server and maybe even nuke the ads altogether. Wouldn’t that be nice?
