Undefeated WBO junior welterweight champion Timothy “Desert Storm” Bradley (27-0, 11 KOs) won a forgettable ten round technical decision over previously undefeated WBC super lightweight champion Devon Alexander “The Great” (21-1, 13 KOs) in a WBC/WBO world championship unification match on Saturday night at the Silverdome in Pontiac, Michigan.
Bradley brought the fight to the southpaw Alexander, but all the rounds were highly technical and close. Alexander was cut over the right eye by an unintentional headbutt in round three. Bradley definitely landed more shots that brought oohs and aahs from the crowd. Two more head clashes in round eight. Early in round ten, another head clash rendered Alexander unable to continue, which sent the bout to the scorecards. Scores were 97-93, 96-95, 98-93.
