Braekhus to face Mia St. John

WBA, WBC & WBO female welterweight champion Cecilia Braekhus (21-0, 5 KOs) will defy a WBC order to face Holly Holm and instead take on 45-year-old Mia St. John (47-12-2, 18 KOs) at the Arena Nord in Frederikshavn, Denmark on April 13. The WBC had told Braekhus’ promoter Sauerland Event and Holm’s promoter Frequez Productions to commence negotiations with a pending purse bid if the parties are unable to reach an agreement. It was also announced that Braekhus has signed a contract extension with Sauerland.
