Former WBO heavyweight champion “Relentless” Lamon Brewster (34-4, 30 KOs) remains very confident approaching his 12-round clash with former WBA heavy champ Bruce Seldon (39-8, 35 KOs) on Saturday at Conseco Fieldhouse in Indianapolis. “I’m feeling relaxed and ready,” Brewster said. “I’ve done everything I could do to prepare for Seldon. I’m a man of God and I’m going to leave it all in His hands. I feel very good about this fight. I expect him to come in guns blazing and be at his best. He realizes this is an opportunity to make a name for himself. It’s going to be a showdown. He’s no one to take lightly, his record speaks for himself. He’s beaten some big names in the past and it’s my job to not become a statistic. I feel like this is destiny for me to be fighting in front of my hometown. I am determined to put on a great fight and to show that I am truly the best heavyweight out there.”
Loads of heavyweights on the undercard. “Fast” Fres Oquendo (29-4, 18 KO) faces Gabe Brown (18-9, 12 KO); Danny Batchelder (25-6-1, 12 KOs) will face Otis Tisdale (25-22-1, 15 KOs); Chris Koval (24-4, 18 KOs) goes against Cruz Quintana; and local favorite Enrique “Yaqui” Ruiz, (20-4, 16 KO) will also be in action.
