As we reported last Saturday, quoting Mariusz Wach’s promoter Mariusz Kołodziej from Global Boxing Promotions, there’s a very real possibility of Wach (27-1, 15 KOs) against Philadelphia’s Bryant Jennings (17-0, 9 KO) on January 18 in Montreal. “As far as I know, all we need is some signatures, but both parties already accepted the date, venue and they’re OK with the financials,” said Kołodziej in a Fightnews.com interview. “Wach accepted this fight and we should have all the signatures in place not later than at the end of the week.”
Bryant Jennings, in a quick word exchange with Fightnews.com said, “It’s made. I didn’t sign but it’s made.”
Jennings-Wach on January 18 would take place on an HBO doubleheader with two former world champions, Lucian Bute and Jean Pascal, being in the main event of the evening. Wach fought last time against WBA/WBO/IBF champion Wladimir Klitschko in November 2012 losing after 12 rounds. After the Klitschko fight, Wach was disqualified after failing a post-fight steroid test. For Jennings, Wach fight would be just his second fight of the year after defeating Andrey Fedosov in June.
