Bujaj, Wright battle to a draw

At a packed house at Millennium Theater in Brooklyn, New York, Steve Bujaj (12-0-1, 9 KOs) and Junior Wright (10-01, 9 KOs) fight lived up to all expectations and beyond. In a candidate of fight of the year the two warriors exchanged in non stop toe to toe action from opening bell.

With constant shift in momentum the fight had fans on their toes from bell to bell . The opening rounds were won by Bujaj as he used movement and counter punch to offset the pressure of Junior Wright. The momentum of the bout started to shift on the third round as Junior Wright consistent pressure landed some flush shots that seemed to have stunned Bujaj. In the mid rounds, Junior Hurt Bujaj with a left hook that made Bujaj bleed profusely from the mouth. As it turned out Bujaj had a two teeth dislodged in his mouth and in between rounds he was asking his corner to try to pull the teeth out. Bujaj came back with attack of his own. The last round both fighters showed trunendous heart and courage. Bujaj hurt Wright with a combination of punches that hurt Wright. As Wright was staggering to the ropes he hurt Bujaj with a barrage of his own.

The fight ended with both fighters throwing punches much to the appreciation of the crowd. Each fighter won a card 96-94 while a 3rd card read 95-95.The fight for WBC international title was declared a draw. Both fighters are interested in a rematch.
