Unbeaten WBO Intercontinental middleweight champion Max Bursak (20-0-1, 8 KOs) will face tough journeyman Bryan Vera (17-4, 11 KOs) on September, 4th at Sportpalace Meteor, Dnipropetrovsk, Ukraine. Bursak and K2 Ukraine Promotions general director Alexander Krassyuk announced the fight at a press conference.
“September will be significant for the Ukrainian professional boxing,” said Krassyuk. “On September 11th in Germany, Wladimir Klitschko will fight against Sam Peter. A week before, on September 4th, the Klitschko Brothers’ company “K2 Promotions” will present a world class boxing show in the city of Dnipropetrovsk. Max Bursak against Bryan Vera will be the main event. For a long time Max has already proved that he’s the best middleweight in Ukraine and one of the best in the world. And the upcoming fight can be one of the brightest and most intriguing fights to take place in Ukraine in recent years.”
Bursak added, “On September 4th one of the main fights in my career will take place against dangerous American boxer Bryan Vera. I’ve watched tapes of his fights every day and have studied all his strengths and weaknesses. In the ring Bryan can’t surprise me with anything. I’ve had a magnificent training camp in Kiev with excellent sparring partners. With my trainer Sergey Gordienko, we’ve developed the basic plan for the fight — and a little extra in case the basic plan suddenly doesn’t work. All of it gives me absolute confidence of a victory. Also I assure you that the fight won’t last all twelve rounds. By means of my fists I’ll make sure my opponent doesn’t leave the ring on his feet!”
