Officials for the IBF super-middleweight title fight between Lucian Bute and Fulgencio Zuniga were named today for Friday’s match-up at the Bell Centre in Montreal. Fears of the Zuniga camp pulling out were averted when Lindsey Page Jr. was named the referee for the bout. Zuniga’s promoter Alfredo Marchio who had pleaded for neutral officials had announced earlier this week that he was willing to walk if referee Marlon Wright who had been the third man in the ring for Bute’s last five bouts was named once again. As is the norm in Quebec for world title bouts, two of the four officials were from Quebec. Judging at ringside will be Claude Pacquette and Pasquale Procopio both of Montreal joined by Eugene Grant of New Jersey.
