Caballero looks to climb

Following an outstanding amateur boxing career, flyweight Randy Caballero continues in the professional ranks this Saturday night, May 8th at the Palm Springs Baseball Stadium in Palm Springs, California. The 19 year old Caballero, promoted by TKO Boxing Promotions, made his pro debut on March 25th at the Commerce Casino in Los Angeles, stopping Gonzalo Nicolas in 0:49 seconds of the first round.

Said Chet Koerner, President of TKO Boxing Promotions, “Within the last two years we’ve had many of our young fighters make their pro debuts and Randy’s was truly special. He was calm and composed before the fight, but his huge legion of fans that made the trip from Coachella to Los Angeles that night showed a passion normally reserved for a future world champion.”

“Randy’s a special talent and the fans in Palm Springs on Saturday night have a terrific opportunity to see a rising star in boxing” continued Koerner.

Caballero will face off against Worcester, MA native Edwin Rosado in their scheduled four round bout.

    Help Support®

For 18 years,® has delivered daily boxing news to fight fans around the globe. From the beginning, we have always kept Fightnews free to our readers and relied on advertiser support. Anyway, the Miami Herald, The Guardian, and Wikipedia among others have been using the “crowdfunding” revenue model, so we thought we’d test it too.

Please consider helping out. You’re not obligated to, but even a $1 pledge would really help. And if we reach our goal, we plan to upgrade our server and maybe even nuke the ads altogether. Wouldn’t that be nice?
