On Thursday in Panama City, the Purse Bid for the mandatory world title defense of WBA featherweight world champion Celestino “Pelenchin” Caballero and mandatory challenger Nicholas Walters was won by Canelo Promotions in representation of Walters’ manager Jacques Dechamps. The offer was $120,000, the minimum set by the WBA for the right to make the fight. The Walters camp submitted the only bid. The fight is tentatively slated for December 1 at a venue to be determined.
