The two-time world champion looked great today in Puerto Rico during a media day workout at the Wilfredo Gomez Gym in Guaynabo, Puerto Rico. “Yesterday I left the gym at 109 pounds and I have not been starving myself. I have a good diet and with all the work that I’m doing I expect to be ready to go in June 13 and defend my title”
Calderon a former 105 pound champion will defend his WBO Jr. flyweight crown against Rodel Mayol, on Saturday June 13 at Madison Square Garden.
“Its my first fight at the Garden and I can’t wait to get to New York and go in the historic ring. It really is a dream come true for me.” said Calderon.
About the fight Calderon said:
“My trainers Jose Sanchez and Felix Pagan Pintor are looking at the videos and have come up with a sound strategy for this fight, now it is up to me to execute the fight plan”.
