Junior Flyweight Champions Iván “Iron Boy” Calderón and Giovanni Segura are set for their showdown on Saturday on the big “Unification” pay-per-view card at Mario “Quijote” Morales Coliseum in Guaynabo, Puerto Rico. The event is a presentation of PR Best Boxing Promotions.
Calderón (34-0-1, 6 KOs) is the WBO 108lb champion, while Segura (24-1, 20 KOs) is the WBA champion. This bout is the first world title unification clash ever in in Puerto Rico.
“Finally I get my unification fight. After seven years as a champion I am going to fight an unification”, Calderón, a former 105 pounds champion, said.
Also on the card, prospects McJoe and McWilliams Arroyo will be in action, as well as José “Chelo” González and Alex “El Pollo” de Jesús, who is being allowed to leave prison for a few hours to box on the show.
Pay Per View ($39.95) bouts will start at 9:00 p.m. with tha fight between McJoe Arroyo and Sigfredo Medina, then José Gonzlaez against Hector Marengo, McWilliams Arroyo versus Jiovanne Fuentes and Calderón vs Segura.
