Veteran Panamanian fighter Miguel Callist visited the Pedro Alcazar Gym in Panama to give some advice to his unbeaten friend Alberto Mosquera, who was mentioned as a possible opponent for WBA interim super lightweight champion Marcos Maidana. “You took the correct decision on rejecting the offer,” Callist said, “Maidana is stronger than many people imagine. When you hit him with a very good punch and you think he is really hurt, then he becomes stronger.” Callist faced Maidana in Argentina in December 2006, losing by TKO in the third round of a short but exciting battle. “I know you have very good boxing skills as I do, but you need to wait for a better moment. Maidana is in his prime and you still can get more experience and very good physical condition,” Callist added. “I was very well prepared, had a world of experience and he beat me in three rounds. With your technical skills you may beat him…but not now.” Mosquera´s record is ten wins, no losses and a no contest.
