Campas headlines Kansas card

Former world champ and living legend Yori Boy Campas (92-15-1, 74 KOs) has accepted a fight in the main event of the October 2 card in Garden City, Kansas, promoted by Robert Gonzales. Campas will go eight rounds with local middleweight Jose Gonzales (13-8-1).  In the co-main, Taos-born Marcos Herrera (5-1-1), now in Denver, fights Garden City’s Herbert Acevedo (3-0) in a sixer at lightweight. Other bouts include: Victoria Cisneros (5-9-2), of Albuquerque, vs. TBA, six at 140; Albuquerque’s Vincent “Li’l Man” Mirabal (6-0) vs. Joel Vargas (2-1-1), of Topeka, Ks., four at 145; Albuquerque’s Josh “Pittbull” Torres (4-1-1) vs. Geoffrey Spruiell (8-9), of Pueblo, Colo., four at 145; Raymond “Hollywood” Montes (3-1), of Albuquerque, vs. Adam Ochoa (2-1-1), of Amarillo, Tex., four at 118; Albuquerque’s Yorden Hernandez debuts vs. Chris Russel (2-1), of Shattuck, Okla.; Albuquerque’s Michael Coca-Gallegos (0-6) takes on debuter Noel Esquedo of Wichita, Ks., four at 147; and Wichita debuter Dameon Brown fights Amarillo debuter Benjamin Vasquez in a four-rounder.
