Nate Campbell wasted no time in initiating the process to petiton the California State Athletic Commission to overturn referee David Mendoza’s ruling in Saturday night’s WBO Championship fight against Timothy Bradley. Campbell’s co-promoter and advisor Terry J. Trekas retained highly respected attorney Josh Dubin to handle the appeal process, and a hearing on the matter is scheduled for August 24th in Los Angeles. Campbell is also takng no chances in regards to his vision, and will be traveling to Tampa on Wednesday for a follow up examination with an ophthalmologist. “The doctor at the hospital told me that this should clear up within a few days to a week. I went to Vernon’s memorial service on Monday, and my vision was better than it was on Sunday. And today was better than yesterday, but this isn’t something to play around with, so I’m going to get another exam tomorrow. Cuts heal, blindness doesn’t,” said Campbell.
