Campillo denies Shumenov claim

WBA light heavyweight champion Gabriel Campillo has petitioned the WBA, through his lawyer Patrick C. English to strip the promotional status of Biebut Shumenov/KZ Event Productions, Inc., after Campillo’s purse was not paid following his majority decision win over the self-promoted Shumenov on August 15 in Astana, Kazakhstan. Team Shumenov says Campillo wasn’t paid because he violated the drug testing rules of the WBA and Kazakhstan Federation of Professional Boxing by disappearing into a locked shower room for approximately ten minutes prior to taking his post-fight urine test. Team Campillo says it was ten seconds, citing the report of WBA Supervisor Guy Jutras as proof.
