Cesar Canchila and Geovani Segura had no problem making weight as both of them tip the scale at a trim and ready 107.5 lbs for their world championship fight tomorrow night here in tha capital city of Baja Caifornia. Canchila of Colombia will be defending the WBA Mini flyweight Interim championship for the first time against Segura of Los Angeles, by the way of Guerrero, Mexico. Canchila captured the crown with a unanimous decision win over Segura on July 26 of last year en Las Vegas, Nevada.
“I feel great. I had a very good training camp and the weight was under control since last week. I expect a very tought fight and one that the fans here will enjoy”, said Canchila.
Segura who has been trained by Javier Capetillo for this fight, figures the fight will come down to who lands his shots first and has better condition.
“I know that the key is going to be the conditioning, we both know each other very well and I know he can punch and I know I can punch, so is important to land early and keep working all night long. It should be a great battle as long as it last”, said Segura,
