President of Golden Boy Promotions Oscar de la Hoya and CEO of Golden Boy Promotions Richard Schaefer will make a special announcement tomorrow regarding the upcoming September 15 fight card in Las Vegas. The card is expected to be headlined by WBC super welterweight champion Saul “Canelo” Alvarez, who is in need of an opponent after the accident of former world champion Paul Williams and developments with James Kirkland. Lately the names of the former world champions Carlos “El Indio” Quintana and “Vicious” Victor Ortiz have been prominently mentioned. A source indicates that Alvarez will begin training in July and will stay in the U.S. until the date of the fight.
