WBC super welterweight world champion Saul ¨Canelo¨ Alvarez continues with six weeks of intense preparation and concentration in Los Angeles with his trainers “Chepo” and Eddy Reynoso. Also in camp is former WBC champion Oscar Larios, Mikail Arreola and Team Canelo prospects Oscar “Raton” Cortes and Andres “Jaguar” Gutierrez.
“Monday, Wednesday and Friday boxing Alvarez does six rounds with two different sparring partners that have similar characteristics to Josesito Lopez,” says Reynoso. “Eighty-four rounds of boxing so far for Saul Alvarez. We hope to finish with 110, as scheduled. The work has been hard, but well worth it because we don’t want surprises with Josesito Lopez.”
Alvarez and Lopez will fight September 15 at the MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas at an event organized by Golden Boy Promotions. Alvarez trains in a private gym in Santa Monica and runs on the tartan track at UCLA. He should arrive in Las Vegas on September 2.
