WBO world champions Jose “Carita” Lopez (super flyweight champion) (39-7-2, 32 KOs) and Ivan “Iron Boy” Calderon (light flyweight champion) (32-0-1, 6 KOs) shown sparring together are helping each other out in preparation for their upcoming bouts. Lopez will take on Marvin Sonsona (13-0, 12 KOs) on September 4th at the Casino Rama, in Rama, Ontario, Canada. While Calderon battles Rodel Mayol (25-3-1, 19 KOs) in a rematch from their technical draw this past June on September 12th at the Coliseo Jose Miguel Agrelot in Hato Rey, Puerto Rico. Sonsona, like Calderon, is a southpaw, but taller. Lopez, like Mayol is an aggressive right hander. Lopez easily made the 30 pre-weigh-in limit today of 132 pounds scaling in at 123.5.
