In his sixth try for a world title, José “Carita” López finally did it. On his 37th birthday, López (39-7-2, 32 KOs) won the vacant WBO super flyweight world title with a twelve round unanimous decision over Pramuansak Phosuwan (45-2-1, 24 KOs) on Saturday night at the Rubén Rodríguez Coliseum, in Bayamón, Puerto Rico. Scores were 117-111, 117-111 and 116-112. López lost all five of his previous shots by unanimous decision.

Former WBA flyweight champion Eric Morel (41-2, 21KOs) won a ten round unanimous decision over Roberto Bonilla (22-11, 13KOs). The judges scored it 100-90, 99-91 and 99-91.

Former world super middleweight champion Manuel Siaca (22-6, 19 KOs) won by TKO at 2:03 of the first round against George Klinesmith (24-14-4, 14KOs) in a bout for the WBA Fedelatin title.

Former world title challenger Henry Bruseles (27-3-2, 15 KOs) won a ten round unanimous decision over Mario Ramos (17-5-1, 3 KOs) by scores of 95-94, 97-92 and 96-93.
