Australian middleweight Nathan Carroll (6-1-1, 2 KOs) scored a clear decision over Indonesia’s Aswin Cabuy (13-30-3, 6 KOs) in eight round main event on Sunday at the Mansfield Tavern, Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. Cabuy dropped Carroll in round one but the Aussie 160 pounder controlled most of the eight rounds to win by scores 76-71, 76-71, 75-72.
In other action, Hungarian-born cruiserweight Balazs Varga (5-3, 4 KOs) clearly outpointed Kyle Brumby (1-6-1) over six rounds. Balazs dropped Brumby in round three and won by scores of 60-53, 58-57, 60-53.
Also super bantamweight Shannon O’Connell (3-1, 2 KOs) stopped Thailand’s Ploysuay Sakrungruang (0-10) at 1.54 of round five. Light middleweight David Galvin (2-3-2) scored a four round majority decision over Liam Hutchinson (4-1, 1KO) by scores 39-38, 39-37, 38-38. Lightweight Todd Greenway (1-0) made a successful professional debut by defeating Nicholas Reiter (0-1-1) over four rounds by scores 40-36, 39-37, 39-37. Female lightweight Sabrina Ostowari (1-0, 1KO) stopped Belinda Sedgwick (0-1) in 0.42 of round one.
