European super bantamweight title Willie ‘Big Bang’ Casey (11-0, 7 KOs) and his team are confident they’ll upsets WBA super bantamweight Guillermo Rigondeaux (7-0, 5 KOs) when they meet in Ireland in mid March. “Of course we are confident in causing an upset, that’s why we took the fight,” said Casey’s trainer Phil Sutcliffe. “I believe Willie has the tools to beat Rigondeaux. We know all about Rigo, two Olympic Gold’s, two World Championships and now a World Title so he is the real deal. I still think Willie can do it, he’s one of the hardest hitters in the world at his weight, it’s going to be a fantastic fight.”
Rigondeaux is expected to return to his training camp with trainer Freddie Roach next week to prepare for his first defense since defeating Ricardo Cordoba.
