In what might prossibly be his last fight, 41 year-old Javier Castillejo (62-8-1, 43 KOs) fought a bittersweet draw against countryman Pablo Nevascues (23-1-1, 16 KOs) in Leganes, Madrid on Saturday night. The old “Lynx of Parla” salvaged a draw in the last round, hurting Nevascues and almost stopping him. Castillejo’s legion of fans in Spain -where he is a legend- are hoping that Javier realizes that it is time for him to hang up the gloves. If such is the case, Javier Castillejo would retire with numerous laurels to his credit: he was WBA jr middleweight champion 1999-2001, WBC interim jr middleweight champion 2001-03 and WBA middleweight champion 2006-07, apart from being European Champion on various occasions.
