IBF#13 Jr Welterweight Victor Cayo took a significant step in his attempt to redeem his career by disposing of his unbeaten but untested countryman Julio De Jesus in just three rounds. Cayo (29-3, 21 KOs) proved that he was a notch above the hard-punching but crude De Jesus (15-1,14 KOs), knocking him down twice in the first round and once more in the third round, forcing referee Oscar Perez to stop the one-sided drubbing. In a companion fight, IBF super-batamweight champion Kathy Wilson Castillo kept her title with a clear-cut decision over Cristal Hoy of the Philippines. The card was held at the Carlos (Teo) Cruz Coliseum and co-promoted by Manguita Boxing and Sampson Boxing Promotion.
