Bantamweight Julio “Pollito” Ceja, unbeaten in 23 fights with 21 knockouts, has now started training with Hall of Fame trainer Ignacio “Nacho” Beristain at the famed Romanza Gym in Mexico City. Julio and his brother Luis “Gallito” Ceja are considered strong candidates to become world champions. Both Ceja brothers will be in the ring on February 9 at the Arena Itson in Ciudad Obregon, Sonora, Mexico
Julio Ceja defends his WBC Fecarbox belt against world ranked Nicaraguan Henry Maldonado, while Luis Ceja is looking to poach the WBC International silver light flyweight belt against Alejandro “Terrible” Morales on a card headlined by former three-division world champion Humberto “Zorrita” Soto against Silverio “Chamaco” Ortiz for the WBC Silver light welterweight title.
The Ceja Brothers are looking to put their names next to other Mexican boxing world champion brothers such as Ricardo and Rene Arredondo, Gabriel and Rafael Ruelas, Raul and Ramon Garcia, Ulises and Jorge Solis, Erik and Diego Morales, Saul and Rigoberto Alvarez finally Juan Manuel and Rafael Marquez.
