Fast rising welterweight Hugo ‘The Boss’ Centeno (7-0, 6 KOs) of Oxnard, California will return to action on Friday, June 3rd at the Warner Center Marriot in Woodland Hills, California against an opponent yet to be determined in a 6-round welterweight bout which is being presented by Art of Boxing Promotions and Bash Boxing. In his last outing, the 20-year old Hugo Centeno defeated Jiovanni Rubio (7-14, 4 KOs) of Santa Rosa, California via unanimous decision last month, headlining for the first time in front of a sold out crowd of 1,382 fans at the Hangar at the Orange County Fair and Event Center in Costa Mesa, California, in the second installment of Roy Englebrecht Promotions ‘Fight Club OC’.
“I got back in the gym the following Monday after my fight, I was going to hit the gym the day after my fight but my body was still a little sore from the fight. I thought my last fight was going to be over quick after I dropped him in the first round but then he got back up and he turned it into a hug fest, the referee took points away from him for holding so much,” said Hugo Centeno. “What can you do, you can’t make a guy fight if he doesn’t want to. I wanted to give the fans a great fight but obviously Rubio felt the power and he didn’t want to fight,” continued Centeno.
Also, in action that night will be bantamweight Javier Gallo (17-3-1, 9 KOs), cruiserweight Anatoliy ‘Dragon’ Dudchenko (11-2, 8 KOs) and lightweight Artur ‘The Punisher’ Bernetsyan (7-0, 2 KOs) in separate bouts.
