“I got back in the gym the following Monday after my fight, I was going to hit the gym the day after my fight but my body was still a little sore from the fight. I thought my last fight was going to be over quick after I dropped him in the first round but then he got back up and he turned it into a hug fest, the referee took points away from him for holding so much,” said Hugo Centeno. “What can you do, you can’t make a guy fight if he doesn’t want to. I wanted to give the fans a great fight but obviously Rubio felt the power and he didn’t want to fight,” continued Centeno.

Also, in action that night will be bantamweight Javier Gallo (17-3-1, 9 KOs), cruiserweight Anatoliy ‘Dragon’ Dudchenko (11-2, 8 KOs) and lightweight Artur ‘The Punisher’ Bernetsyan (7-0, 2 KOs) in separate bouts.

For 18 years,® has delivered daily boxing news to fight fans around the globe. From the beginning, we have always kept Fightnews free to our readers and relied on advertiser support. Anyway, the Miami Herald, The Guardian, and Wikipedia among others have been using the “crowdfunding” revenue model, so we thought we’d test it too.

Please consider helping out. You’re not obligated to, but even a $1 pledge would really help. And if we reach our goal, we plan to upgrade our server and maybe even nuke the ads altogether. Wouldn’t that be nice?
