Chagaev training video

Former WBA Heavyweight Champion Ruslan Chagaev (25-1, 17 KOs) is looking forward to his upcoming WBA eliminator fight against Australian top ranked contender Kali Meehan (35-3, 29 KOs). The boxing career of 31 year old Chagaev has been kind of a roller coaster. He holds a win over “Russian Giant” Nicolay Valuev and he lost his last fight 10 months ago against WBO/IBF/IBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko in front of a 60,000+ crowd at Veltins Arena in Schalke. Now he is back in action with the WBA eliminator bout against “Checkmate” Meehan on May 22 in Germany with an eye on regaining his world title soon after.

    Help Support®

For 18 years,® has delivered daily boxing news to fight fans around the globe. From the beginning, we have always kept Fightnews free to our readers and relied on advertiser support. Anyway, the Miami Herald, The Guardian, and Wikipedia among others have been using the “crowdfunding” revenue model, so we thought we’d test it too.

Please consider helping out. You’re not obligated to, but even a $1 pledge would really help. And if we reach our goal, we plan to upgrade our server and maybe even nuke the ads altogether. Wouldn’t that be nice?
