Chaves dominates Goncalo

WBO #10 ranked welterweight Diego Chaves (15-0, 12 KOs) of Argentina defeated Jeferson Goncalo (22-9-3, 12 KOs) of Brazil to retain his WBO Latino welterweight title. The bout was fought at an intense pace from beginning to end with Chaves rocking the resilient Goncalo on several occasions. Chaves staggered Goncalo badly into the ropes with a barrage of punches in round 5 and the referee issued a standing 8 count. In the end the official judges scorecards read 120-108, 120-107, and 120-107 all in favor to Chaves. The event took place at the Club Los Indios, Moreno in Buenos Aires, Argentina with Mario Margossian promoting.
