Chaves wins WBA interim title

Welterweight Diego Chaves (21-0, 17 KOs) of Argentina stopped reigning WBA interim welterweight titlist Ismael El Massoudi (36-4, 14 KOs) of France in round two to win the title. Chaves dropped El Massoudi twice in round two. The second knockdown sent El Massoudi crashing hard to the canvas with no count being issued and the referee waving the bout off immediately.
