Fighters on the Pacquiao-Cotto “Firepower” card, today at a press conference held at the MGM in Las Vegas, promised to steal the show in their respective PPV-telecast bouts.  In the co-main event, Julio Caesar Chavez Jr. (40-0-1, 30 KOs), of Culiacan, Mexico, will square off with Troy Rowland (25-2, 7 KOs), of Grand Rapids, Mich., in a ten-round middleweight bout. In a 12-rounder, WBA Super Welterweight Champion Daniel Santos (32-3-1, 23 KOs), of Puerto Rico, will defend against undefeated Brooklynite Yori Foreman (27-0, 8 KOs); and, for the WBC Continental Americas welter belt, Jesus Soto-Karass (24-3-3, 16 KOs), of Los Mochis, Mexico, takes on Alfonso Gomez (20-4-2, 10 KOs), of Tustin, Calif. Stay tuned for a full report and more photos.

    Help Support®

For 18 years,® has delivered daily boxing news to fight fans around the globe. From the beginning, we have always kept Fightnews free to our readers and relied on advertiser support. Anyway, the Miami Herald, The Guardian, and Wikipedia among others have been using the “crowdfunding” revenue model, so we thought we’d test it too.

Please consider helping out. You’re not obligated to, but even a $1 pledge would really help. And if we reach our goal, we plan to upgrade our server and maybe even nuke the ads altogether. Wouldn’t that be nice?
