Chavez Jr. seeks Zbik in 2011

Unbeaten Mexican prospect Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. (41-0-1, 30 KOs) spoke to at Thursday’s press conference to announce his January 29 clash with Billy Lyell (22-8, 4 KOs) at the soccer stadium in Culiacan, Sinaloa, Mexico. “I had a few fights in 2010 and also cancelled the December fight but my goal is that 2011 will be my year and I’ll win a WBC belt for all the support they have given to my father,” said Chavez Jr., who trains in Los Angeles under Freddie Roach. “After reappearing in my country against a dangerous opponent and I’m looking forward to contesting the WBC middleweight world championship with Sebastian Zbik,” added the Son of the Legend.
