Former WBC middleweight champion and Son of the Legend Julio César Chávez Jr. and Bryan Vera hosted a news conference on Thursday at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas to officially announcing their eagerly awaited rematch on March 1.
Bryan Vera: I don’t want to talk too much about what happened before. I just know that I’m preparing, getting ready. I stayed in shape even between fights. My girlfriend is a professional runner, so I really don’t have a choice but to stay in shape. But I’m ready, I’m prepared, I stayed ready. I’ve changed my life the last couple of years and it’s starting to show in the fights. So come March 1 its going to be a great fight and expect to see my hand get raised.
Julio Cesar Chavez Jr: I’m very happy that we’re going to have a rematch. There was a lot of controversy after the first fight. A lot of people thought Vera won and that’s why we’re doing the rematch to get any doubts out of the way…I think March 1 you’re going to see a lot of doubts erased about my performance. And thank you Texas because it’s my home too!
