Heavyweight contender Derek Chisora (19-4, 13 KOs) scored a questionable third round TKO over Ondrej Pala (32-4, 22 KOs) on Saturday night at the Copper Box in London. Pala landed some big shots in rounds one and two, but Chisora rocked Pala late in round three and Pala ended up facing a corner where he was rabbit punched by Chisora. The foul was ignored and the bout was quickly waved off by Danish referee Jan Christensen in Chisora’s favor. Another quick and controversial stoppage in a British ring. Pala seemed OK to continue.
Highly touted super middleweight Frank Buglioni (11-0, 8 KOs) scored an eighth round KO over Sten Horvath (11-2, 3 KOs). Two knockdowns in round eight ended it. The win gets Buglioni a spot in the top 15 of the next WBO rankings. Time was 2:53.
Unbeaten welterweight Bradley Skeete (14-0, 4 KOs) recovered from a second round knockdown to win a ten round unanimous decision over former IBO titleholder Colin Lynes (37-11, 12 KOs) in a clash for the vacant BBBofC English belt. Scores were 96-94, 96-93, 97-93. The bout was refereed by Howard Foster of Froch-Groves fame.
