Former WBO world title challenger Michael “Cold Blood” Clark (43-7) defeated formerly unbeaten Jake Giuriceo (16-1) by majority decision Saturday night at Promo West Pavilion in Columbus, Ohio. After dropping Giuriceo with an overhand right in the first round, Clark used his superior speed and effective counter punching to control the action enroute to claiming the vacant Ohio State junior welterweight title.
In the co feature, local heavyweight John L. Smith (12-0) remained undefeated with a six round unanimous decision over Keith Barr (8-2). Smith is trained by former heavyweight champ, James “Buster” Douglas. The show was promoted by Troy Speakman.
