Golden Boy matchmaker Eric Gomez confirmed on Thursday that WBO light heavyweight champion Nathan Cleverly will still be defending his title on the November 10th card at Staples Center in Los Angeles. However, Cleverly will not be defending his title against Ryan Coyne, who fell out due to a contractual dispute with DKP. According to Gomez, a new challenger will be named soon. “We’re close,” he said. “I’ve been working very closely with Dean Powell, the matchmaker for Frank Warren, we’ve zeroed in on a couple of guys. It’ll come out shortly.”
Gomez also announced that unbeaten jr welterweight Antonio Orozco (15-09, 11 KOs) will be facing Danny Escobar (8-1, 5 KOs) on the card.
