Cohen on top in S. Philly!

Brian Cohen (9-1, 8 KOs), of Philadelphia, PA will headline a benefit show at the South Philadelphia High School, located at Broad and Warner, on Saturday, January 31, 2009. Cohen will face Robbie “Taz-Mexican Devil” Tovar (15-4-1, 5 KOs), of Lafayette, IN for the WBF light heavyweight title in the eight round main event. Other fighters tentatively scheduled to appear in separate bouts include middleweight “Mighty” Mike Tiberi and junior welterweight Oscar Vasquez of Delaware, lightweights Victor Vasquez and Anthony Flores, plus cruiserweight Tony Ferrante, all from Philadelphia.

Heavyweight John Mercurio and female junior featherweight attraction Nasia Brown will be making their pro debuts. The promoter is Bionic Bull Promotions, in association with The Community Connection Services and Development Benefit. The matchmaker is Nick Tiberi. Tickets are priced at $20, $40, and $50 and can be purchased by calling 215-755-8155. Doors open at 6:30pm. The first bout begins at 7:30pm sharp.
