Colon new Wisconsin boxing chief

By Johnny B’

Wisconsin Department of Regulation and Licensing Secretary Celia Jackson has named former top amateur boxer Hector Colon from Milwaukee to take on the duties as Wisconsin’s boxing commissioner. Colon replaces long time commissioner Roxanne Peterson who recently retired. Colon was considered by many to be the USA’s top amateur welterweight in 1990s winning approximately eighty-five percent of 90 plus boxing matches in the unpaid ranks. Colon currently works under Jackson as the department’s executive assistant and will retain that position, taking on additional duties overseeing professional boxing shows.
