Hall of Fame boxing announcer Colonel Bob Sheridan has informed Fightnews.com that he will undergo heart surgery on Monday, but is confident he will be fit as a fiddle shortly and will continue to call the biggest fights around the globe. The Colonel said “I’m going in for triple by pass surgery. Thanks to the strength of my heart due to the ‘Product B,’ I’m able to have this surgery and should be as good as new in 3-4 weeks.”
The Colonel has called over 10,000 fights on radio and television and was inducted into the World Boxing Hall of Fame in 2004. He has also been honored with the Boxing Writers Association of America Sam Taub award and the Florida Boxing Hall of Fame inducted the Colonel in 2011.
Best of luck Colonel. We’ll see you back at ringside soon.
