WBC jr flyweight world champion Adrian “Confesor” Hernandez (25-2-1, 16 KOs) will expose his title for the first time against Panamanian Dirceu Cabarca (13-6, 5 KOs) on Saturday in Toluca, Mexico State. Hernandez, in his second run as world champion, is now more mature and focused and plans to keep this belt for a long time and defend it continuously, same as his countrymen Humberto “Chiquita” Gonzalez (11 defenses as champion in three stages between 1989 and 1995) and Jorge “Travieso” Arce (7 defenses between 2002 and 2004).

In the co-feature, two-time world title challenger Ricardo “Pelon” Dominguez (36-8-2, 22 KOs) faces Luis “Vampiro” Arceo (24-11-4, 17 KOs) will meet in a ten round lightweight rematch. In March 2011, the result was a controversial split decision victory in favor of “Pelon” who had Arceo on the canvas in the third round.

The card will the first of 2013 for Zanfer Promotions.

    Help Support®

For 18 years,® has delivered daily boxing news to fight fans around the globe. From the beginning, we have always kept Fightnews free to our readers and relied on advertiser support. Anyway, the Miami Herald, The Guardian, and Wikipedia among others have been using the “crowdfunding” revenue model, so we thought we’d test it too.

Please consider helping out. You’re not obligated to, but even a $1 pledge would really help. And if we reach our goal, we plan to upgrade our server and maybe even nuke the ads altogether. Wouldn’t that be nice?
