Former WBA super bantamweight champion Ricardo “Maestrito” Cordoba (34-2-2, 21 KOs) will be returning to ring action on October 9th in a card presented by Premium Boxing Promotion at the Roberto Duran Arena in Panama City. Cordoba’s comeback was announced in a press conference held by Premium Boxing president Hector Villarreal. Ricardo’s opponent will be hard-hitting Colombian prospect Eddy Julio (10-1-1, 9 KOs). On March 21th of this year, Cordoba lost his title via a surprising 11th round TKO loss to Bernard Dunne in Dublin. “The past is the past,” declared Ricardo. “I have to move ahead. Being a champion also means coming back from adversity and learning from your mistakes.” On the same card, WBA bantamweight champion (and Cordoba’s stablemate) WBA bantamweight champ Anselmo Moreno (26-1-1, 8 KOs) will be in the co-feature facing tough 122lb contender Marlon Aguillar (21-7-1, 16 KOs) of Nicaragua.
