Cotto-Clottey Update!
Miguel Cotto has been preparing for weeks in Tampa, getting ready to take on warrior Joshua Clottey at Madison Square Garden on June 13. Cotto has been in fiery sparring, with spar partners who pressure and fire at close range. “Cotto has been working very hard in camp. He knows the importance of this fight,” said promoter Bob Arum. Meanwhile. Clottey has been in high-altitude training for weeks in the Poconos. Clottey is trained by Kwame Asante. “Joshua is in top condition and is convinced he will win. Cotto can forget about fighting Pacquiao. We’ll take that fight instead,” said Vinny Scolpino, manager of Clottey. Cotto vs Clottey is scheduled June 13 at Madison Square Garden and will be televised on HBO. Cotto is planning to arrive into New York on June 5 and will train outdoors at 152nd St in the Bronx on Saturday, June 6, during the annual Puerto Rican Festival. Clottey will hit the Big Apple on June 8.
