Couture chokes out Coleman

In a battle of legends, Randy Couture choked out Mark Coleman with a second round rear-naked choke hold at UFC 109 at the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas. Couture outboxed Coleman in the first, landing uppercuts. After unleashing a ground-and-pound attack on Coleman, Couture took his back, securing a rear naked chokehold at 1:09 of the second.

In the co-main, Chael Sonnen defeated Nate Marquardt by unanimous decision, with scores of 30-27 x 3. On the undercard: Paulo Thiago defeated Mike Swick by submission, at 1:54 of round two; Demian Maia won a decision over Dan Miller, scores of 30-27 and 29-28 twice; and Matt Serra won by knockout at 2:23 of the first over Frank Trigg.
