WBO #4 featherweight Orlando Cruz (19-2-1, 9 KOs) scored a one-sided twelve round unanimous decision over Jorge Pazos (20-5, 13 KOs) on Friday night at the Kissimmee Civic Center in Kissimmee, Florida. Southpaw Cruz, who recently announced he was a “proud gay man” (the first active boxer having pronounced so in boxing history), outboxed Pazos and avoided exchanges in winning by scores of 118-110, 117-111, 118-110. Cruz retained the NABO belt.
Former world champion and WBO #11 jr. welterweight Vicente “El Loco” Mosquera (31-2-1, 17 KOs) won by TKO when the corner of former world title challenger Daniel Attah (26-13-1, 9 KOs) stopped the fight at the end of the fifth round.
Unbeaten super flyweight prospect Jonathan “Bomba” Gonzalez (11-0, 10 KOs) scored a sixth round TKO over Danny Flores (13-2, 8 KOs). The bout was waved off due to punishment taken by Flores.
