Cuidad Obregon Presser

Thursday in Ciudad Obregon, Sonora, Mexico, Promociones Zanfer officially announced the big Saturday, December 19 world championship card that will be part of Top Rank’s split-site pay-per-view card that is headlined by world middleweight champion Kelly Pavlik defending his belts against Miguel Angel Espino. Two-time world champion Humberto Soto and local hero Alex “Finito” Valdez were present at the press conference. Soto will take on Jesus “Matador” Chavez in a 10 round welterweight bout and Valdez will challenge Nehomar Cermeno for the WBA Interim bantamweight world championship. It will be the third world title tilt in Ciudad Obregon and the first time a native of Ciudad Obregon, Valdez will fight for a world title in his own hometown.
