Darryl Cunningham and Vernon Paris return to ring action at the Royal Oak Music Theatre for promoters Carlos Llinas International Productions (CLIP) and Ron Remus Productions on Friday, December 4th. Cunningham will be in the main event against an opponent TBD while Paris faces Damon Antoine. Cunningham, riding a nine bout win streak, told fightnews.com he was not concerned about his yet to be named foe. “I’m in great shape, real sharp, and can’t wait to fight on Friday”. Confident Cunningham further declared, “doesn’t matter who they find for me.” Undefeated Paris who fought just a little over two weeks ago after having been out of action for nearly twenty-one months, makes good on his desire to stay active as he makes his first ever appearance at this popular suburban Detroit venue.
Also on the scheduled nine bout card is Alexis Hloros in a featured match against James Denson as well as heavyweights Rich Power vs Dione Craig. Local Detroit area favorites Willie Fortune, Chris Hancock, Andres Gorges and Walter Burns are all in action as well. Canadian Andrew Kooner makes a return to the area hoping to bounce back from an early KO loss in his last fight as he goes up against Norman Allen.
Next Friday’s card will be the tenth show promoter Carlos Llinas has been involved with in Michigan in 2009. Llinas told fightnews he is looking to perhaps better that mark in 2010, bringing the fans in the state even more boxing action.
Tickets for Friday’s show are available at the Royal Oak Music Theatre box office, www.royaloakmusictheatre.com or at 248-399-2980. Doors open at 7 PM, first fight is at 8 PM.
