Dallas stops Castro in six

Jr welterweight prospect Mike Dallas Jr (19-2-1, 8 KOs) scored a nice sixth round TKO over WBO #4 rated Javier Castro (27-5, 22 KOs) on Saturday night at the Soboba Casino in San Jacinto, California. Dallas rocked Castro in the sixth and got the stoppage with his follow up barrage. Referee Lou Moret waved it off at 2:06. With the victory, Dallas claimed the interim WBO Latino belt.

Unbeaten super middleweight Brandon Gonzales (16-0, 10 KOs) pounded out a one-sided eight round unanimous decision over journeyman Elie Augustama (6-5, 3 KOs). Scores were 80-72 on all cards.

    Help Support®

For 18 years,® has delivered daily boxing news to fight fans around the globe. From the beginning, we have always kept Fightnews free to our readers and relied on advertiser support. Anyway, the Miami Herald, The Guardian, and Wikipedia among others have been using the “crowdfunding” revenue model, so we thought we’d test it too.

Please consider helping out. You’re not obligated to, but even a $1 pledge would really help. And if we reach our goal, we plan to upgrade our server and maybe even nuke the ads altogether. Wouldn’t that be nice?
