Daniel McKinnon Update

By Ray Wheatley — World of Boxing

Promoter Dean Lonergan has given an update on light heavyweight Daniel McKinnon, who suffered a brain hemorrhage in his bout on Saturday with Robert Berridge on the Tua-Ustinov undercard in New Zealand. Daniel continues to improve which is great news. Lonergan said, “I visited Daniel in hospital on Sunday morning and whilst he was not in great shape at that time, he was on the improve. I’m pleased to say that he is now awake and talking, seems to be in great spirits and is on his way to recovery.”

    Help Support®

For 18 years,® has delivered daily boxing news to fight fans around the globe. From the beginning, we have always kept Fightnews free to our readers and relied on advertiser support. Anyway, the Miami Herald, The Guardian, and Wikipedia among others have been using the “crowdfunding” revenue model, so we thought we’d test it too.

Please consider helping out. You’re not obligated to, but even a $1 pledge would really help. And if we reach our goal, we plan to upgrade our server and maybe even nuke the ads altogether. Wouldn’t that be nice?
