Day-13: Miskirtchian – Takoucht heats up.

Miskirtchian with Alain Vanackere Belgian Alex Miskirtchian will face French Sofiane Takoucht in an IBF ordered featherweight eliminator on January 11, 2014 in the Country Hall, Sart Tilman of Liege, Belgium. It will be a rematch of their Sept 2011 encounter which was won by split decision by Miskirtchian. At that time it was Takoucht’s EBU title which was at stake. The Belgian vacated his EBU title to concentrate on a world title.
Miskirtchian, 23-2-1(9), is undefeated in the last 5 years with only 2 defeats, both abroad and on points. Against Paul Truscott and Antonio De Vitis. He had 1 draw against French Mohamed Bouleghcha back in 2006.
Sofiane Takoucht has almost a similar record with a 27-2-1(12) record. His last loss was against Miskirtchian in 2011 and before he lost to compatriot Guillaume Frenois for the French title. None of the boxers have been stopped so it is expected to go the distance is a fierce battle with the winner becoming the mandatory to IBF featherweight champion Evgeny Gradovich.

On the undercard WBC Youth champion Herve Hubeaux will have a 4 rounder. Sanaeh Jah a rematch with Sandy Coget. Prospect Ryan Merhy is looking for win #6. Bilal Laggoune keeps active before his WBC Youth titlefight early next year. Geoffrey Battelo has a 6 rounder.
